Dr. Highsmith is a board certified Naturopathic Physician (Arizona) and license massage therapist (Arizona, Georgia) providing naturopathic services for women who are looking for natural options to their medical conditions. She utilizes the 6 Principles of Naturopathic Medicine to provide an optimal state of wellness.
She received her doctorate from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences (SCNM) in Tempe, Arizona, a federally accredited and licensed, four year medical school. She holds dual degrees as a Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.) and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT) from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Highsmith is also, a veteran having served her country as a hospital corpsman in the United States Navy during Operation Iraqi Freedom & Operation Enduring in Kuwait. During her military years, she trained with the navy, army, and marines.
At SCNM, Dr. Highsmith studied Women’s Health, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Natural Dermatology, Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine, Botanical Medicine, Nutrition, Ayurvedic Medicine, Environmental Medicine, Homeopathic Medicine, Constitutional Hydrotherapy, Mind-Body Medicine, Minor Surgery, Pain Management, Intravenous (IV) Nutrition Therapy, Pharmacotherapy, and Physical Medicine under accomplished, well respected physicians.
Before attending naturopathic medicine school, Dr. Highsmith attended the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts in Norcross, Georgia where she learned Neuromuscular Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Nutrition, various forms of bodywork such as Polarity, Oriental Massage, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue, and Swedish Massage. She has received continued education courses in Craniosacral Therapy, Uterine Massage, Pranic Healing, Raw and Vegan Foods, Bach Flower Essences, and Aromatherapy.
While Dr. Highsmith is trained as a primary care physician, she specializes in Nutrition, Diet & Weight Loss, Mind-Body Medicine and Natural Dermatology, Endocrinology, and Cardiology. She focuses her practice in Women’s Health & Environmental Medicine.
